Key benefits
Who is Medbase MultiAccess suitable for?
Medbase MultiAccess is the ideal choice for anyone who wants to combine maximum flexibility with high quality. And anyone who values a range of options for accessing medical care – while also benefiting from a premium discount.
How Medbase MultiAccess works
Step 1
First choose a Medbase medical centre to coordinate any future treatments.
Step 2
If you need medical advice, you can contact the Medbase medical centre, a Medbase pharmacy or the Medgate telemedicine centre at any time. This does not apply to gynaecological check-ups, pregnancy examinations (including childbirth) and visits to the dentist, ophthalmologist or paediatrician.
Step 3
The chosen contact provides initial medical advice, draws up a binding treatment plan with you and informs your medical centre.
Step 4
Your medical centre coordinates any further measures within the network of experts to ensure your treatment runs smoothly.
In hospital
For a hospital stay, choose the general ward and a recognised clinic on the cantonal hospital list. Cost coverage is then unlimited in terms of amount and duration.
In an emergency
In an emergency, you can go directly to an emergency doctor or to the A&E department of a hospital and notify your coordinating medical centre within 10 days. Your medical centre will take care of any follow-up treatment and check-ups.
Contacts with Medbase MultiAccess
-
Medbase medical centre
Medbase is a holistic health partner with a comprehensive medical and therapeutic offering. As a Medbase MultiAccess customer, you choose a Medbase medical centre that coordinates your treatment and provides support throughout your treatment. However, you still have the flexibility to contact the telemedicine centre or a Medbase pharmacy if you have any health issues.
-
Medgate telemedicine centre
If you’re not sure whether you need to see a doctor or you have a medical query in the middle of the night, the medical hotline is available around the clock. If the telemedical consultation fully resolves your health concern, it will be billed like a visit to the doctor via basic insurance. In other words, you cover the costs until you’ve reached your deductible. On average, you can expect to pay between CHF 30 and CHF 70 for every initial and follow-up consultation (plus any emergency surcharges). If you are referred to a physical healthcare provider (medical centre/specialist/hospital), you will not incur any costs unless the treatment has been completed.
-
Medbase pharmacies
With Medbase MultiAccess, all Medbase pharmacies are also a point of contact for health-related queries. The pharmacist decides what to do next. They will consult a doctor if necessary. Pharmacies also offer various additional services, such as a second opinion for minor illnesses.
