Accident report

• You work more than 8 hours for the same employer: Report the accident, even if it happened during your free time. Your employer is legally obliged to insure you against occupational and non-occupational accidents.
• You work less than 8 hours for the same employer: If the accident occurred at work or on the way to or from work, report it to your employer. If it occurred in your free time, report the accident to us.
  
• If you are self-employed, not in gainful employment, retired or under 18 years of age: report the accident to us.
  
• You are registered as unemployed: contact the unemployment office. If you draw unemployment benefits, you are insured against accident through SUVA.
  

You can also report dental accidents in the Sanitas Portal or using the accident form on this page. We also need a dental claim form and a cost estimate from your dentist.

You can report an accident abroad in the same way as an accident in Switzerland. Please also complete and submit the Treatments abroad form.

Recourse is when another person caused the accident and we claim the costs back from their liability insurance. This is because the medical costs

are always covered by the person who caused the accident or their liability insurance.

If a third party is involved in the accident, Schaden Service Schweiz AG supports us with legal issues relating to liability. If Schaden Service Schweiz AG requires further details, they will contact you directly.

We cover the medical costs in the event of an accident, provided you are insured against accidents with us.
