What costs do health insurers cover for babies?
The law states that you have to take out basic insurance for your baby no later than 3 months after birth. However, if you want the best possible insurance cover for your child, it’s best to register them for supplementary insurance before birth, as prenatal registration usually means that there is no need for a health check.

Take out dental insurance for children at an early age
Basic insurance does not cover dental treatment – and the costs can put quite a strain on the family budget. Dental offers financial protection.
Take out insurance by your child’s 5th birthday
You can take out the Sanitas Dental supplementary insurance plan for your child without a dental report as long as they are under the age of five. The longer you wait, the greater the risk that the health insurer will raise objections due to possible misaligned teeth. So it’s a good idea to take out insurance early on.
